Work Permits

Any expat wishing to work in Egypt requires a valid work permit. Keys handles the application process, provides guidance as to what documentation is required by the applicant, accompanies expat to all authorities every step of the way.

Work permit procedures include:

Initial application to Ministry of Manpower for security clearance. During this time the expat needs to be outside of Egypt. Applicants will be required to submit a variety of personal documents to support the application including a valid passport scan, university degree, a work experience certificate, translated and notarised by the Egyptian consulate in the home country of the applicant.

After the approval is obtained, expat can enter the country.

Proof of health is required which includes undergoing an HIV test at the Ministry of Health.

Application is submitted at the visa department.

Work permits are valid for one year, renewals every 6 months.

Duration and documentation required varies based on nationalities.

Work permits are limited under a quota scheme. Any entity needs 10 local staff for each expat. Keys provides the quota.
